Story
The mrach is a classic Tunisian device used to anoint prayer-goers on Fridays at the ancient mosque of Kairouan. This silver mrach has been decorated using the age-old and arduous namli silverwork technique to engrave intricate arabesque designs on its surface, and adorned with aromatic ambergris flowers. The top of the device can be screwed off to be filled with zhar, or rosewater, which is then offered to guests at weddings and traditional festive occasions.
