This lamp made using the ancient and arduous silver-working process of filigree was an essential feature of the bedrooms of the Beys, the Ottoman rulers of Tunisia in centuries past. The lamp’s shade was made from filigree wire, adorned with gold-plated silver-wire spirals, and designed to recall the characteristic windows of the picturesque seaside Tunis suburb of Sidi Bou Said. The base resembles the roots of a tree, which signifies tranquility and grounding.

Note: The lamp's wiring is set to European standards and needs to be adapted if used elsewhere.
