This one-of-a-kind silver apple with gold-plated accents is made with the extremely arduous process of filigree. The master silversmith has also decorated the apple using the filigree technique. Once a must-have item for the zhez, or the kit of little luxuries given to Tunisian brides-to-be, the statuette was used to store eyeshadow and other makeup. Today, the apple, adorned with gold-plated silver, can serve as an elegant jewelry box or a simple mantlepiece decoration. Twist the apple and it opens into two halves to reveal an internal compartment.
